METRON, a French cleantech company specializing in optimizing energy consumption and decarbonizing businesses, has been selected to accompany the official French government delegation to Southeast Asia. Pierre Groleau, Senior VP Global Sales, represents METRON in the delegation. The trip, that took place from April 9th to April 13th, was chaired by Laurent Saint-Martin, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and French Nationals Abroad. A natural fit for METRON, whose presence in Southeast Asia has been growing steadily since 2018.
Southeast Asia is facing major challenges. A highly industrialized and carbon-intensive region, it is now forced to align its industrial practices with global greenhouse gas emission reduction targets. Countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan, dubbed the "factories of the world," have realized the urgent need to preserve their main markets. To meet Western environmental demands, particularly those of the European market, the Southeast Asian economy has quickly embraced decarbonization, leading to growing demand for technological solutions capable of supporting the energy transition. This represents a strategic opportunity for European players, like METRON, who have unique expertise that has been proven for over 10 years.
Thanks to its innovative platform, METRON enables industrial groups to visualize and optimize their energy consumption in real time in order to reduce their carbon footprint while improving their energy efficiency. Since its creation in 2013, METRON has deployed its solution in more than 30 countries, including several in Southeast Asia. METRON has made the region's potential a strategic priority. Present since 2018 in Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea, the French startup responds to a real need for large international groups to find comprehensive energy management solutions for industrial sites. Through strategic alliances (with electronics giant Fujitsu in Japan and gas company PTT in Thailand) or by offering group-level support and energy optimizations on industrial sites around the world, METRON relies on dedicated experts in each region of the globe to promote French know-how in the energy transition.
Vincent Sciandra, CEO of METRON: “We are proud to be part of this official French delegation to Southeast Asia. This is a strategic region for the energy transition. At METRON, we are convinced that the decarbonization of the industrial sector is a global issue, and Southeast Asia represents a major lever to accelerate this movement. Thanks to our innovative solutions, we support companies in reducing their carbon footprint. The future of GreenTech is being built today, and METRON is proud to play a key role in this transformation.”
