METRON renews its alliance with NTT Facilities in Japan for the 4th consecutive year

Tokyo, April 28, 2023 - METRON, the French start-up specialized in digital energy efficiency solutions to decarbonize industry, announces the signing of the renewal of its alliance for the 4th consecutive year with NTT Facilities, Inc., in the presence of the President and CEO of NTT Facilities, Kazuhiko Matsubara, Vincent Sciandra, CEO of METRON, and the French Minister for Digital Transition and Telecommunications, Jean-Noël Barrot.

METRON renews its alliance with NTT Facilities for the 4th year in a row

METRON, a French start-up specializing in digital energy efficiency solutions to decarbonize industry, is renewing its alliance initiated in 2019 with NTT Facilities, a major and historic player in the country's energy networks, for the 4th consecutive year. This cooperation allows the integration of the METRON EMOS (Energy Management and Optimization Solution) digital solution into NTT Facilities's industrial energy services. This renewal also presents an opportunity to extend this partnership to other NTT Group companies.

On the occasion of the renewal of this alliance, a signing ceremony was held at French Tech on April 28, 2023 by French Tech between the President and CEO of NTT Facilities Kazuhiko Matsubara, Vincent Sciandra, CEO of METRON and the French Minister for Digital Transition and Telecommunications, Jean-Noël Barrot.

Indeed, the Japanese industrial sector is facing a triple challenge: a growing need to reduce the costs associated with industrial facilities, especially production lines; a growing demand to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the production chain in order to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, and, at the same time, a shortage of specialized personnel capable of managing the complex operations of facilities.

To meet these challenges in the country, METRON SAS established METRON JAPAN GK in Tokyo in March 2020, to launch its activities in the country, together with its local partner. METRON's main objective is to accelerate the decarbonization journey of Japanese companies, in order to achieve the country's public targets towards a carbon neutral economy by 2050.

Kazuhiko MATSUBARA, President and CEO of NTT Facilities : “We are very pleased to renew for the 4th year our alliance with METRON. By combining METRON's advanced AI-Based solution with NTT FACILITIES’s engineering expertise in facilities management,  we will continue to support operational efficiency at manufacturing companies in Japan, thereby actively promoting SDGs and ESG initiatives and contributing to our customers' decarbonization management and sustainable urban development.”

Vincent SCIANDRA, CEO de METRON: “We are particularly proud to renew for the 4th consecutive year our alliance in Japan with NTT Facilities, which confirms this global awareness to decarbonize industrial activities while guaranteeing the companies’ economic performance. We hope that this alliance will continue in the long term and will result in numerous joint decarbonization projects.”

Jean-Noël BARROT, French Minister for Digital Transition and Telecommunications: "The energy and ecological transition is a priority for France, and the technological, industrial and energy sectors must play their full part in it. I am delighted that French companies such as METRON are actively involved in this major transition in France and abroad by proposing innovative solutions to decarbonise industrial activities. We are proud to support METRON in its ambition to reduce the carbon footprint of Japanese and French companies.”
